Q&A With Vicky Wright

For today's post I asked Vicky Wright a few questions. After starting her blog, Goodmorningbelle, in May 2014, she has branched out into talking about many different topics on her blog. These include personal posts, Disney posts, and her most recent series "A Chat With", where she interviews different music artists. Vicky is a genuine, lovely person who has given me such wonderful support, especially when I was freaking out over my chemistry exam. Please check out her blog, if you haven't already - I promise you'll love it.

Here's the gorgeous girl herself!

Here are my questions for her:

What did you think about blogging when you first heard of it and did you ever think you'd try it yourself?

I thought it was mainly a world for beauty gurus and people who like baking cakes because that's all I'd ever really seen. But soon, I started to see comedy blogs and music blogs and all these other variations that weren't just there to tell me how to contour. Initially though, I definitely didn't see myself doing it because I know absolutely nothing about make-up (although my winged liner slays ^.^)

Now that your A Levels are over (and I hope you're celebrating loads) are you planning on doing anything nice this Summer?

I want to do absolutely nothing. I wanted to just potter round the house in t-shirts that are too big for me and bake cake. I have a few plans with friends and I'm working, but other than that the plan is to not do anything.

If you could swap places with any blogger for a day, who would you pick?

Does Carrie Hope Fletcher count? Not because of her gorgeous hair, or wonderful blog, but because I want to be able to sing Let It Go without my voice completely giving in.

What is your favourite Disney film and favourite song from that film? It's a tough choice I know!

Oh my gosh! How can you do this to me?! Normally, I'd say my favourite film is The Fox and The Hound or Peter Pan but, although the songs are still great, there are none that scream out to me. I'm going to pick Tarzan because that entire soundtrack is phenomenal. Two Worlds is my favourite.

What's the biggest decision you've ever made in your life and what do you think would have happened if you never made that choice?

Well, picking my favourite Disney film in the previous question wasn't easy! Two spring to mind but I think one's too personal to discuss because the result directly affected another person. The other one's fine because it only affects me (and a big idiot...) About 2 years ago I chose to leave a sports club that I'd been part of for 7 years when things got a bit nasty between the manageress and an instructor. I was completely against the actions of the instructor who would be training me daily, and didn't seem in any way remorseful. So I chucked in the towel and left. If I had stayed, I don't think I'd be as happy as I am now. The club weighed me down a lot because no matter how great my day was, that evening I'd have to spend 2 hours there- surrounded by miserable people. It's just slightly annoying that I actually got good at it just before leaving ^.^

Many bloggers also try YouTube. Would you ever want to make YouTube videos too?

I like the idea, but there are a few problems. Firstly, I don't have the equipment or money for the equipment so it'd be very poor quality. Also, I don't think it would really add anything to my blog. I want to start making my music posts into podcasts, so when I discuss music, I can play little sections of it, instead of just providing a link, but I need to read up on copyright laws etc. before that happens.

Some people are animal obsessed whilst others wish to avoid them at all costs. Have you ever had any pets?

I used to have a fish called Bubbles and now we have a dog called Barney. Although I, of course, love our dog, when I'm older and have my own house, I don't think I'd get one for myself.

What made you want to join Beau Bloggers?

When I started writing, I had absolutely no clue what I was doing or how people were going see what I'd written. I could get a few views via social media, but there was no one there to ask for help if I had a question and there was no sense of community. Then, Izzy commented on one of my posts saying, if I wanted to join, there were lots of  other friendly bloggers who I could talk to. This had me hooked and I still love reading all the girls posts today. I do only have one very tiny problem with the community- it's just me being picky but I study French, it'd be wrong not to bring it up! Because "bloggers" is plural, "Beau" should actually be "Beaux" due to adjectival agreements (I'M SORRY!) If the French for "Blogger" was used, it would be "Belles" but I'll let that one slip ^.^

If you had to give up any form of social media forever, which one would you pick?

Definitely Facebook. I only really use it to talk to people who don't have my number.

What do you hope to get out of your blog in the next year?

I want to do much more music stuff and interview more people. I guess in the very distant future, I'd like it to be successful enough to help me kickstart a career in radio but we'll have to see how that goes.

I really enjoyed reading these answers, it was like sitting down and having a nice little chat. Thank you so much for reading and I'd like to say a big thank you to Vicky for collabing with me. I can tell that her blog will go very far and I can't wait to watch it grow! xxx

Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish

I'm pretty sure its obvious that Rimmel is my favourite makeup line, so its no surprise that I went straight to this brand to pick up a new nude lipstick. I was drawn straight to the Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish in the shade 03 because it was exactly the colour I was looking for. They have a wide range of shades which means everyone is bound to find something for them. I picked it up for £5.49 from Superdrug, which is an incredible price for such a good quality lipstick.

The lipsticks in this line all have the same classy, black packaging

I've already tried and reviewed the Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Version before here. They are very similar products, which I'm glad about since I was so deeply impressed by my last lipstick purchase. They do have slight variations in formula though, so I thought I'd give this one a review too.

The first thing that draws me to this product is the elegant packaging. It's black and very sleek and looks snazzy as an item in your handbag. I should also mention that all the shades in the brand have the same packaging. Thankfully, Rimmel have labeled the shade and the number at the bottom which means you can distinguish between the shades.

Look how easy it is to distinguish between shades!

This lipstick has a fantastic formula and is very highly pigmented. You only need one layer for full coverage which means it is very quick to apply. Perfect for if you're on the go! Also, it's smooth so glides on easily. Something that is vital for lipstick is that it tastes good because, well, its on your lips. This one has a lovely taste, but I can't quite explain it.

After trying the matte version, I realised that this version didn't last as long. Don't get me wrong, it is still lasts 2-4 hours (depending on how much you eat and drink) but the matte version lasts a lot longer. Also, as I've said before, I find that there is not a lot of product with this brand. That's mainly me being greedy though and I always want more from this product. And its not the end of the world if you use it up quickly because Rimmel is very affordable and you can always pop back and get more.

There's not that much product in a tube, but it's good enough for me.

Overall, I was very impressed with this product, and does the job better than more expensive lipsticks I've tried. I do slightly prefer the matte version, but I would still rate this highly with a 8.5/10. I will most definitely be repurchasing this lipstick and building up a mini collection. It will be my go-to lipstick from now on. Have you tried this lipstick too, and if so, what did you think? xxx

Q&A with Lauren Williams

Lauren is a teenage blogger from East London and  has had her blog, Loveheart Doodles, since January 2014. Her blog consists of fashion and art posts, as well as a few personal posts, and is very interesting to read. In this year and a half that she's been blogging, she has already reached many milestones and achievements, including reaching thousands of views and creating the blogging community Beau Bloggers. I know that her blog will continue to be a huge success in the future.

Here's the beauty herself!

Let's get started with the questions:

What inspired you to create Beau Bloggers?

When I blogged I felt like I was all alone in this thing, nobody knew about my blog, I didn't know about many others. A blogging community was exactly what I needed (people to regularly interact with). Beau Bloggers was extremely successful and still is and I'm so glad I made it and with the help of Izzy and everyone else its become such a great community.

In this day and age I think its safe to assume social media plays an important role. What social media do you use the most?

My most used social media's are:
Since you seem to be a very talented blogger, artist and singer, do you have any hidden talents that we don't know about?

Well, I think you've listed all of them lol! I can do this really weird thing with my eyebrows, I call it a talent though.

Did you enjoy making your YouTube video and are you planning on making more ?

I did enjoy making my first YouTube video! It wasn't up to the standard that I wanted it but I thought I better just go ahead and do it, it's very time consuming but it is fun and I plan to make more.

What is your favourite inspirational quote and who said it?

Hakuna Matata- I really don't know who said this; I think it's some monkey in the Lion King lol.

Some people love to tell everyone about their blogs whereas some people post completely anonymously. What sort of person are you and who in you're personal life actually knows about your blog?

The purpose of my blog was to promote my ideas and my artwork. So to do this I broadcast my blog a lot. My parents and family know about my blog (though they hardly visit or understand it). My friends know about it but I'm the only arty one out of them so they don't really read it. So wherever my views come from thanks to everyone! x

What subjects did you take for your GCSEs and do you think you made the right decision?

For my GCSE's I took Textiles, Art, History and French along with all the other compulsory subjects. I don't regret anything one bit! Textiles and Art are a must for me everywhere I go. I picked History because I enjoy it and find it interesting and I was also called gifted and talented in History (I don't know how on earth though). French was forced lol, my school specialises in languages so I had to pick one and the easiest one to me is French. But hey, I have no regrets maybe my fashion business will blow up in Paris and I'll need it!

Are the things you regret the most things you've done, or things you didn't do?

The things I regret are a combination of both really.

What is the thing you fangirl over the most?

The one thing/person I fangirl over is my favourite musical artist- Wizkid

There are so many perks of being a blogger. What do you think is the best thing about it?

The best thing about being a blogger is being able to express yourself. It's your little space and whether people see it or not-that's your business but there's nothing greater than just pouring out your thoughts and publishing them. The next thing that's awesome is getting a reply- knowing that people actually read your stuff.

Thank you for reading this post and I hope you got to know Lauren a little better. She is honestly such a friendly and kind person so please check out her blog if you haven't already. Also, I want to say a huge thank you to Lauren herself for answering my questions. See you guys next time xxx.

Rimmel Bronzer

The other day when I popped into Superdrug they were having an offer where if you spend over £9 on Rimmel you get a free bronzer. This was ideal for me because I was planning on picking up a few items that would cost over £9 and bronzer was one of the things on my list anyway. What a bargain!

I picked up the Rimmel Natural Bronzing Powder in the shade 22 Sun Bronze. It costs £5.99 from Superdrug so, although it isn't too expensive, I'm glad I got it for free. This bronzer also comes in two other shades.

Most bronzers have a slight shimmer to them which isn't exactly ideal when you're going for the natural makeup look because it's a bit of a give-away. But this however, is completely matte and looks extremely natural. It also has spf 15 which is great for protecting your skin this summer.

Another thing that was great about this bronzer is that the colour is fantastic. Although it is slightly on the orange side, it is a way more natural colour than other bronzers I've tried. It is also fairly light, but buildable. This makes it great for contouring without making it look like you've piled the makeup on.

A feature that I wasn't expecting from this product is that it is waterproof. I mean I've heard of waterproof mascara and eyeliner but never bronzer. Although it isn't essential for me that bronzer is waterproof, I definitely think it helps because it means that it is long lasting. It claims to last up to 10 hours and I found that it does live up to this claim.

I do have one criticism though and that is the packaging. It is the similar to the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, and as I said in that review I found that the packaging is too delicate. Although I haven't cracked the packaging on the bronzer yet (a huge success I know) I still feel like I'll drop it one day and it will shatter.

I would say that this is one of the best bronzers I've tried so far. I would give it an 8/10 and that's only because I'm scared of breaking the packaging. This is a product that I will most likely be repurchasing. Have you tried this bronzer yourself, and if so what did you think? xxx

Q&A with Georgie Watts

Georgie is a blogger from the UK and has been writing since January 2014. She has a hilarious personality and I think that comes across well in her blog. Her blog, georgiewatts.blogspot.co.uk consists of monthly favourites, day in the life posts, tags and much more. It's definitely worth checking out! She is a good irl friend of mine, so naturally I wanted to collab with her on a post.

tbt meeting Alfie

Let's get started with the questions and see how she responded:

What is the main reason you started blogging?

I started blogging, mainly because I loved the idea of it. I wanted to write down memories, what I loved and other random bits.  I have always been into social media.  I suppose YouTube pushed it forward because I love the aspect of YouTubers and the ones I first watched such as Tanya and Zoe in 2012/3 had blogs as well and I loved reading them.  So I suppose it came from that.  But when I was a kid I always tried to keep diaries, I recently found one from when I was 10, it was weird reading my thoughts when I was younger!

How long do you spend on social media everyday?

Oh God. I have no idea, it varies from 1-2 hours a day to probably like 8 hours if I stay up till 2am or something ridiculous.

What's the best concert you've ever been to?

Oh geez, I have been to fair amount of concerts of the past couple of years and I loved absolutely all of them.  McBusted and 1D when I saw them at Wembley are the best ones I have been to.  McBusted was full of energy, and seeing my two childhood bands perform together was just incredible.  1D at Wembley, last year was seriously something I cannot put into words, as you know I have loved One Direction for so long and to get to see them at Wembley Stadium was just fantastic; the atmosphere was amazing and of course their singing and dancing.

Netflix or YouTube?

NO! I will not answer this question, it is actually impossible.  Okay, in all seriousness some days I have Netflix days and some days I will have more of a YouTube day, it depends on what is in my subscription box, how long I have until I have to actually do something, whether I am in the middle of an addictive TV series or found a new YouTuber who I love.  At the moment though I have to say Netflix because I haven’t binge watched a TV series on Netflix since, probably Christmas, due to exams, so now I am binge watching Once Upon A Time and I am already nearly on season 3 opps!

What's the cringiest thing you did as a 12 year old?

WOW. Okay, you want me to narrow this down because when I was 12 I was one heck of an embarrassing person!

Favourite Season and why?

Mine has got to be Autumn or Winter.  As much as I love spring and summer, when it gets too hot I hate it, like I feel so uncomfortable and yuck-y and in winter and autumn you can get away with wearing black ahah.  I love autumn and winter because I love getting cosy by the fire, having hot drinks, watching movies at night and putting candles on etc.

If you had to choose between meeting One Direction or 5SOS, who would you choose? (this is probably the meanest thing I've ever asked I'm so sorry)

Seriously Izzy? Fine okay let me think this one through.  I have loved 1D longer than 5SOS, mainly because 1D was around before 5SOS.  I first became a proper ‘directioner’ or whatever in 2012 whereas I first became proper into 5SOS in 2013.  However, I have grown to become more into 5SOS, as much as I love 1D, my style of music is more towards the punk-pop rather than just pop.  But honestly I think 5SOS and I would get alone like a house on fire because I see myself in different aspects of the boys but 1D are just so caring and omg how am I suppose to pick? Okay I’ll pick 5SOS, no 1D, no 5SOS.  I’ll move to the next question before I change my mind!

If you could go back to this time last year and give yourself a piece of advice, what would you say?

I would say that everything is going to be fine in terms of schools, grades and friends.  I would give a couple of tips on trying not to be so anxious and stressed out all the time but I am still working on that now.  I would also say that even though A-Levels are one of the worst things, you will also have good friends and 2015 will be an amazing year.

When did your obsession with boy-bands start? (I think it's safe to assume you have a slight obsession haha)

Haha what do you mean? What band obsession? I think it mainly started in year 8 with JLS.  I think when I was 12 or 13, I remember being a hard-core fan of JLS.

What's the best thing about having a blog?

Just getting to write about what I want, when I want.  I love writing about things I have done and what I love so blogging is just so much fun for me.

Thank you very much for reading, I hope you found out a bit more about the wonderful Georgie. And I want to say a huge thank you to Georgie herself for answering these questions, they were hilarious! And lets face it, who wasn't a fan of JLS back in the day? xxx

My Makeup Collection And Storage

Yes, today I am going to show you guys my makeup collection! *squeals with excitement*. These are some of my favourite types of videos to watch on YouTube. Confession time; I once spent a whole day watching makeup collection videos. That's a day of my life that I'll never get back but it's totally worth it. I actually wanted to film this as one of my first videos back in 2013, but I've finally organised it to a point that I'm happy with it.

*Disclaimer*

I'm not trying to brag at all or say that you need this much makeup. These are just a few things I've collected over a while so I thought it would be fun to show you guys. Makeup is just something I like to collect and enjoy using. I love watching these types of videos so I wanted to give it a go for myself.

Also, I'm in no way trying to say I have a lot of makeup or that I have the "biggest makeup collection ever". You might think its not even worth making a video about. However, I'm finally at a stage where I think I have enough makeup to film this video and I'm in no way trying to compare it to anyone else's. This is also almost all drugstore makeup, because I'm about as cheap as you can get!

Video

Sorry that its a long one guys, but I wanted to go into as much detail as possible. And believe me when I say that I've cut it down A LOT because I had over 40 minutes of footage. I wouldn't even blame you if you skipped through it.
